At the outset, users complete an in-depth lifestyle questionnaire that extends far beyond surface-level preferences. It captures critical dimensions such as:

• Time spent at home
• Household structure (including children, other pets, and property type)
• Work and travel routines
• Energy levels and daily activity
• Budget allocations for grooming, veterinary care, and nutrition
• Mental health indicators (including anxiety, depression, or the need for emotional support)
• Core personality traits (such as introversion vs. extroversion, emotional sensitivity, patience, and social tolerance)

The system uses a proprietary algorithm that processes user data against an extensive pet compatibility database. It assigns a care capacity score, maps that to breeds/species whose needs align and flags high-risk mismatches (e.g. anxious individuals matched with high-maintenance or aggressive breeds). Produces a shortlist of matches ranked by emotional, lifestyle, and environmental compatibility. This helps prevent rehoming, trauma, and stress—on both sides of the match.

To ensure the pet is never treated like a product: the system does not allow browsing by breed or image. Matches are shown only after completing the compatibility process. Users are given detailed education on the pet’s temperament, care needs, and lifestyle fit before proceeding. This prevents impulse decisions and promotes informed, compassionate ownership.
